There is only one Muslim that I "know" who I'm confident doesn't want me dead, and that is Yusuf Islam, the musician formerly known as Cat Stevens. While he is not an AMERICAN Muslim, his music, past and present, reveals him to be non-violent and, in essence, incapable of wanting to see ANYONE dead (in my opinion). I'm aware that he allegedly called for the death of Salman Rushdie 20 years ago but he has flatly denied that, and I believe him.

That being said, his newest CD also shows him to be a supporter of OBAMA and so while Yusuf might not want ME dead, per se....I go on the assumption that he would want my political and religious views dead, if he could be a part of bringing that about.

I must also say that Yusuf, who is CLEARLY and OPENLY Muslim, now supporting Obama is more proof in my mind that our President is SECRETLY one. Cat Stevens / Yusuf Islam has never voiced support for ANY political figure BEFORE. His music has always been distinctly non-political. But then again, you said AMERICAN Muslims and in Obama's case, I have more questions about the "American" part of your description than anything ELSE.....

 In the geopolitical sense, it does not control its radical elements and allows its religious leaders to direct affairs of state without regard for the freedoms of others.

In the spiritual sense, it is a tribal political system that forced its god (Allah) to conform to the ideas of an underachieving fugitive. Islam is spiritual only in the sense that it had to disguise itself as a religion in order to spread.

I don't hate Muslims, but there does seem to be a rise in their sense of patriotism (a.k.a. anti-americanism) Why do people insist on calling what some of us deem as security as 'racism.' America cannot be the land of 'equal opportunity' if there is no America left.

Outstanding Post.  While in the Corps there was a Gunnery Sergeant who converted to Islam about 3/4 of the way through a 6 month course we were taking.   He was giddy with excitement about conversion and tried to slip it into every conversation.  We all agreed that his well known "sexual appetites" must have been the lure.  He liked the "women as sex slave aspects".   Islam is like a "testosterone club" which is why it appeals to so many male youth. 

In any case the scary thing was that on breaks we started asking him questions.   At one point we posed the hypothetical question, "So if you Imam, knowing that you had access to the base, told you to pack a van with explosives and drive it into the General's building... would you do it?"   He simply... would NOT say NO.  He used the typical circular rambling (lying) they are taught so well, to evade the answer.   Later when it was my turn for interviewing for clearance I told them about this guy.  I honestly felt he was a threat.  We all got orders different ways after that so I don't know what happened with him..  But it really was spooky.

The federal government is a far greater threat, and has already done immeasurably more harm to us Yankees than any cliche of a zealot could hope to accomplish.

@SwordAndSacrifice - 13th century peasants don't really pose much of a threat, especially by comparison. Even if they did, the remedy would simply to end our attempted military and political domination of the world. The "Islamofacist" threat is just a lie for social control. The real facists and enemies of liberty live right here in the USA, and are typically WASPs, not Islamic Fundamentalists.

There have been multiple news stories about radical Muslim clerics working in the New York prison system trying to convert convicts, particularly young blacks, to Islam.  It's also been in the news that they are working to convert "non-arab" looking people to Islam.  Sorry, but why the push for radicals to do this, if not to have unsuspicious jihadists.

And I'll add to this the simple fact that despite the claims of folks only a minority of Muslims are radicals, the majority who aren't not only accept the existence of them within their communities, but refuse to condemn those who are.  And looking at the history of Islam and how it spreads, to call it a religion of peace is as best, deceptive.

@Magniloquentia - Well, either the "Islamofascism threat" is a lie and doesn't really exist, or it really exists and it is as great a threat as I'm telling people.

Either way, one of us is lying. And one of us is telling the truth.
